On the day

Writing your CBT exam in Nigeria

Follow these steps on exam day — from arriving at the centre to submitting your answers.

  1. 01

    Preparation & arrival

    • Study hard using past questions & textbooks
    • Get enough sleep the night before
    • Arrive at the centre early
    • Bring your exam slip and valid ID
  2. 02

    Biometric verification

    • Queue up calmly at the entrance
    • Place your finger on the scanner
    • Look into the camera
    • Wait for your identity to be verified
  3. 03

    Enter hall & log in

    • Find your assigned computer
    • Username: your JAMB registration number
    • Password: your surname or seat number
    • Read all instructions before clicking Start
  4. 04

    Start the exam

    • Click the 'Start Exam' button
    • Check the countdown timer
    • Select your subjects (English, Maths, Biology, etc.)
    • Take a deep breath — you are ready
  5. 05

    Navigate & answer

    • Click the correct option with the mouse
    • Use 'Next' to move forward
    • Use 'Previous' to go back
    • Flag tricky questions to revisit later
  6. 06

    Time management & review

    • Keep an eye on the remaining time
    • Review your flagged questions
    • Do not spend too long on one question
    • Change answers only if you are sure
  7. 07

    Submit your exam

    • Click 'Submit' only when finished
    • Confirm the submission prompt
    • Log out of the system properly
    • Leave the hall quietly
